The model figures in my work are often found in a state of distress, bound in moments of inaction, reaction or severe bodily harm and transformation.  The dimensional threads and stitching of the work, pin these states of assembling and disassembling, giving the viewer insight into an unfolding narrative or emotion within the captured drama.  The lines that bind these figures and objects, hold and describe their events, a drawing across the page giving possible clues to the narrative.  Are the lines slicing, horizons, points of view, evidence of movement or simply lines lifted from the page?

My work is meant to capture difficult emotional states at a fixed position in time, a liminal space in which we can choose to contemplate or confront.

The work can to be viewed from three perspectives. Mounted on the wall and viewed from a distance, they are simple formal pieces, the lines and shapes a minimalist expression.  Viewed closer they become subverted architectural models, smaller objects communicating larger events.  Miniatures in the end, they become emotive and distorted sculptures held within the language of the threads.
